Labor Day (2)

To begin Sunday, we knew that we wanted to go somewhere but we weren't sure where.  On facebook that morning, we noticed that Natalie had posted that she and Wesley were spending a family day at Elk River Falls.  Those falls weren't too far from where we were, so we thought we would head over and possibly run into them.  After getting ice cream (see other post) we drove around, and went looking for the falls.  Well, we were finally headed up the right way and a whole bunch of cars were coming out.  We were practically the only car headed up, and thought that was kinda weird.  At the end of all these passing cars, a car pulled up and had their window unrolled to tell us what was going on.  To our surprise, it was Wes and Natalie!  The surprise on their faces was priceless.  You could see the wheels in their heads turning like: "turn around cause up ahead...hey i know you...how do i know you?...it's Jim n Jill...but we are in northern ID so it isn't them...but it IS them!...HEY!!!" Haha, we turned around and got to visit with them for a while.  There had been an accident up at the falls where somebody had been hurt and they needed to get everyone out. (had a helicopter to land and everything).  So we headed back to the ice cream shop again so they could get some too.  It was so great to see them.

our mouths had chocolate and ice cream in them.

That night we went to a fireworks show
in St. Maries.  It was incredible!
I would have to say better than Soda's 4th and that is pretty good.
There was barely any room, I've never seen so many blankets spread out.

If you look in the back, you can see a ton of them.

We finally got to meet Jake's little girl, Aurora.
She was so cute!

Then we got to eat these delicious fries,
that were nasty greasy but still oh so good! haha

Overall it was a great trip.
Really quick, but lots of fun and great to get away
and not be tied down to the rodeo.
I think Labor Day trips are going to have to become
an annual ordeal :)
