The Day From H - E - Double Hockey Sticks!!!

Not even kidding! If something could have gone wrong, it did.
My entire family should have just stayed in bed today.
Well, it all started that morning.
Everyone but Dad went to Grace today
to put up the tent for fair. (he had to work)
Just as we pulled into Grace, we got a
phone call from Dad.
Dad: "Hey, so remember that deer that has the 3 fawns?"
(we've seen them the past couple of weeks on
our way to work)
Me: "Ya..."
Dad: "Well, I hit her this morning, and now
the hood of your car is all torn up"

I thought he was joking, or he was
pulling a "Casey". One of the guys he works
with has been making prank calls lately.
Unfortunately, he was not kidding.
I then asked if he was alright, and he said that he was.
So, when he got home, this is what we saw:

When he told me it was totaled,
I pictured something a lot worse.
Crazy what one little deer can do to your car!
But I'm so thankful that Dad is alright.
Things could have been worse, a lot worse.

Well...on with the rest of the day.
We got to the fairgrounds, and set up the tent.
We needed lots of hard workers, and
tough, tough guys!
Here are some pics:

First we lay out the tent, and lace up the pieces together

Then drive stakes to tie the ropes to.
I don't know what you think,
but Joe must REALLY trust Seth, haha

We tie a rope from every stake to the tent.
And put the smaller poles all the way around the tent.
Then, starting on one end we stand the poles up.

Putting up the poles takes
a whole lot of strong people!

Once it is up, we set up the stage and curtain.
It's a lot of work, but worth it for the shade and fun!

So, we put up the tent and then were on our way
to the other end of the fairgrounds to assign
pig pens and set up the camper.
Megan...thinking she was getting left...
took off in a run to the truck
and proceeded to trip over the
forks of the skid-steer.
She hurt her toe, and then scraped up
her hands, knee, and elbows on the gravel.
We were going to the doctor, but
ended up waiting to see how she'd do.
She's doing fine now, but still hurting.
Hopefully she's healed up when it comes
time to show her steer!

We did eventually get the pig pens assigned,
the steer pen decorated,
and the camper set up...so that was good!

Then to top it all off,
when we got home our mailbox was
open and the mail was wet...
I guess things like this gotta happen
every once in a while so you remember
how good you've got it the rest of the time.
As Dad always says:
"Sometimes life's a pickle!"

Cleaning the Sink at Angie's!

Megan, Shelby, and I went to Logan
for a shopping day.
Of course, I forgot my camera when
we were shopping, but I did
remember to get it out when we cleaned the sink.

Here's the girls watching our waitress
create the "sink"

first bite!

happy happy!

then, after many, many bites......

well, shelby's face explains it all! haha

trying to come up with a plan
as to how we were going to finish
so we could get a bumper sticker...
megan's ready to give up I think

"Straws! That's how we'll finish!"

We did it!!!

:)
