Fitting Moon

It's a Blue Moon tonight! Go check it out!

Don't know what a blue moon is? Check out this link:

I just think it is fitting that there is a blue moon tonight
cause today was the funeral for Niel Armstrong.
Coincidence?....maybe, but after-all:

Pitbull in a Grocery Store

Tonight was my last night at Broulim's.
It had been a pretty normal day, nothing too eventful
or different.  Well, around 8:30 I was helping a lady out,
when I heard a 'pitter-patter' sound. When I looked
in the direction of the sound, this is the face I found:

Okay, not this exact face but we had an adorable
grey pit-bull in the store tonight! haha!
Luckily I knew whose dog it was, and we were able to
call him and let him know where his pet was.
But oh boy, did this dog have fun.
He ran ALL OVER the store, just loving the attention
and escaping from us every chance he got.
I think the only reason he came in the store was
because he knew we would just maul him
(like we do every time in the parking lot haha)
But it made for a fun night!  Now it's back to school.
I can't believe it is time, but I head out Saturday...Go Aggies!

Oregon Zoo

After we left Yaquina Head, we went to the Zoo in Newport.
Word of advice: don't bother going there if you go to
the tidal pools at Yaquina Head, cause it was basically the
same thing...so we paid to go and see things that we just
saw in the wild ten minutes before! haha, oh well.

This was one of the sweetest parts of the zoo...the shark tunnel

It was hard to capture just how big  this tank was, but at least
you can kinda see how it was a tunnel through the tank

What if the glass breaks!? teehee

Then here was my favorite part:

This seal was so playful and funny! It sure loved the attention.

Yaquina Lighthouse

So we left from the reunion and headed down the coast.
We made a few stops, but one of my favorites was the Yaquina Lighthouse.
Near it, you can check out some tide pools.  They were awesome!
Then we also got to see some seals and sea lions up close.

We got to go up into the lighthouse too.

A view from one of the windows about half way up

When we were leaving, Mom caught a glimpse of something on
the beach.  We realized it was the pier from Japan that washed
up after the tsunami.  Pretty crazy!

Beach & Sunsets

Saturday Night: We got to enjoy a BEAUTIFUL sunset.

This one is prolly my favorite that I took that night

I entered this one in the fair

Meg took this pic

These two were CONSTANTLY in the water haha.

We also got to watch some playful seals.

After Cape Meares

After Cape Meares, we headed back to the bay
and we played ladder ball on the beach and just relaxed.
It was a lot of fun!  Here are some pics from that day:

Dad's evil laugh after cancelling Mom's points

Oh, and we also went swimming.
Yes, swimming on the Oregon Coast.
Cold...but now we can say that we have swam in the
Pacific Ocean! haha
