Roads

(on the way to Bear Lake with Kali)

There are many roads we follow in this life.
Some are windy and narrow,
others are wide and flat.
Whatever the way,
whatever the difficulty, we follow these roads
that continually end and start over again.
Sometimes we have a difficult choice placed before us.

Here's a talk I really liked by Elder Rex C. Reeve of the Seventy:

I especially liked this line:
How grateful I am that we all have a real and loving Father, a Heavenly Father to whom we can call when there are two roads and no road signs to guide the way.

The "road" of my first year of college is coming to an end. Weird!
It has been different from what I expected.
But then again, I really didn't know what to expect.
I've had many bumps and turns, but never wrecks! :)
Overall, it was tough but not too bad.
But, I think I have a better idea of what may be coming!

Soon, I hope to be jumping onto a completely different road
...literally...
Within the next couple of weeks,
I should get a phone call from Simplot
saying whether I'll drive truck this summer or not.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Myself

by Edgar Guest

I have to live with myself, and so,
I want to be fit for myself to know;
I want to be able as days go by,
Always to look myself straight in the eye;
I don't want to stand with the setting sun
And hate myself for the things I've done.

I don't want to keep on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,
And fool myself as I come and go
Into thinking that nobody else will know
The kind of man I really am;
I don't want to dress myself up in sham.

I want to deserve all men's respect;
But here in this struggle for fame and pelf,
I want to be able to like myself.
I don't want to think as I come and go
That I'm for bluster and bluff and empty show.

I never can hide myself from me,
I see what others may never see,
I know what others may never know,
I never can fool myself -- and so,
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.

Guess Where I Went?.....

That's right! I went to Bear Lake AGAIN! haha
Kali & I didn't have class Tuesday afternoon,
and so we decided to go on an adventure!
We filled her car up, and then as we
were driving back to campus, we saw
the sign that said "Bear Lake 40 miles".
Kali turned to me and said
"You know what we should do?...We should go to Bear Lake!"
I agreed that it would be fun...but it wasn't until
I looked over at her that I realized she was serious.
So, what'd we do?...We drove to Bear Lake!
It was absolutely spontaneous, spur of the moment
and I loved every second of it!

The water was really glassy and still

We may be weird...
and we may be crazy...
but at least we have fun!

Playing disc golf, very tan guy with the bell on his bike,
putting natural gas in the car, getting "caught up" in construction,
Aggie Ice Cream, ditching the softball game for Bear Lake,
Costa Vida, homemade oreos, good movie,
and then freaking out over the man outside
for reasons only a few are able to know ;)
Thanks for an AWESOME day Kali!

Trip to Bear Lake

So Lauren and Nicole came up with the fantastic
idea to go to Bear Lake this last weekend.
It was SOOOooo much fun!!
When I finally got the nerve to go in,
I decided to see just how far I could go before it
got deep. I kept going farther and farther....
and it wasn't getting deeper. Then, all of a sudden
I turned to Nicole and said "Watch this!"
I stepped up and the water was almost to my ankle again! haha
It was a bank but the sand was super grainey...it felt like sand paper.
When we got back down off of it, the sand felt like clay...pretty crazy.

Here's Nicole on the bank. She's taller than me! haha
You can't tell from this picture, but we were a long ways out there!

camera timer + sitting on a rock = all three of us in a picture!

COLD!!! but fun :)

After, we stopped and got lunch.
Yummy pizza!
Thanks girls! It was a blast!

Oh My!

So MANY pretzels....So there was this ENORMOUS bag of pretzels.
(like Costco huge!)
We didn't want them so we gave them to the guys across the hall.
Well, they gave them back. But we didn't
want them back, so Kali had the brilliant idea
to spread them throughout their hallway....needless to say it may
have been a mistake because it was
a BIG mess to clean up and they have sworn revenge! :S

Lauren, Eric, and Kali cleaning up the mess.

Well, then we all decided to jump off the couch.
(Nicole's idea)
Then we thought We should take pictures! and here they are:
Here's Kali flying through the air!

Amazing Lauren and her happy Harry Potter-ish glasses

I would've kicked both feet, but as you can see from the look on my face,
I was scared enough! haha

Wonderful Nicole and her amazing leap!

Well, I hope you all got a good laugh...we did!
Oh, and here's Lauren's nerdy face...basically AMAZING! :)

Freeman's View

Saturday, after conference, I went to Tyron's Football game.
He plays for the Logan Stampede football team.
After the game, I looked at my camera
189 pictures! haha. The pictures ranged from
birds in the sky, to shoes, to bleachers,
to cheerleaders and the football team.

Freeman's view:

My view:

Aren't they cute!!!

Before the Snow

Beautiful sunsets! How thankful I am for them.
I don't know what it is about a sunset, but it brings warmth to my heart.
I would much prefer the ones without the buildings in the way,
but these make do :)
I was thinking the other day how sunsets are always perfect.
What makes them perfect? I don't know!
They are never the same, but
they all seem to be equally perfect and beautiful.

Snow, Snow, and More Snow!

Argh! I'm SOOO ready for Spring!
This is what I woke up to Thursday:

Worst April Fools joke ever.
yes it's pretty, but plain yucky in April!!

4 or 5 inches I think
unfortunately it's suppose to snow all night tonight.
3-4 more inches :p

Monster Chocolate Chip Cookies!

I found this cookie recipe online.
Wowza! They are ENORMOUS!
and LOADED with chocolate chips.
Haha, in the recipe it said to drop by
1/4 cups onto the cookie sheet.
I thought huh, they'll prolly be pretty big.
Little did I know that these would come out!
